17 Days to Christmas

Well I just want to start off by saying Happy Birthday Mom! I know this is being posted after it has come and gone, but I couldn't resist the opportunity.

Well the days are getting shorter and colder. That can mean only one thing - its winter and Christmas is coming. I love Christmas!

Kristal has the house all decorated and ready to entertain. It's hard to tell if the kids are grasping that Christmas is almost here. I know that they love the mini trees that they have in their rooms. They also love to play the new game that will be sure to become a tradition for us. They have a little doll elf that they have to look for in the house. His name is Christopher Pop-in-kins, and he moves ever night (you can read more on him here.) Its a lot of fun.

We got a treat this last Friday night. We had the chance to see Mom perform in the Jefferson Baptist Church, Twin Singing Christmas Trees. It's amazing the size of the production that this average size church produces. It was a great show.

Well I better go, I got to "get you something real nice there, Clark!"

It's getting cold out there...

Whoa it has gotten cold out there. We're starting to get those freezing temps. It makes getting out of bed just that much harder, in the mornings.

Speaking of cold, Dad, Matt, and I went duck hunting this morning. We had a good time. I think we ended up with about 5 gadwall. We had some tough luck predicting the later flights, or I think we could have easily doubled that number. Still we had a good time and I got to see Dad work his lab, Trooper. He is a real good dog, that LOVES to retrieve. He did a nice job on a couple of retrieves. What was impressive about him is how well he listens and takes commands. Dad sent him out on a long blind retrieve, whistled and changed his direction several times. I'll have some pictures from the hunt and of Trooper on my flickr page soon.

Stay warm!

Let the Blogging begin

Well this is the first installment into what will probably be a regular habit for me. I have decided to take up blogging in an effort to keep my family and friends updated on what is happening with my family and I. Seeing that I'm not a literary giant, it may take me a bit to get good at this.

That all said, some of you maybe saying, "What is a blog?" Instead of me taking a long time typing something that is both confusing and poorly written, here is a link to wikipedia's answer.

Now with all that out of the way, I can bring you up to speed. Kristal and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary back on May 31st. Now most normal couples would be starting to get their family started about this time in their relationship. They may have one child and another on the way. Well we have never been normal! Paris is 4, Champ is 2, and Silas is 7 months. We have a dog (Kate), a hairless cat (Izzy), 3 miniature horses, and a donkey. Talk about a loud house! As for work, I work for my father-in-law on the Villaggio project and help with some of the other companies. Kristal is mostly a fantastic stay-at-home mom, but she runs her shoe store on the side. When we're not doing all that, you can find us at the church (Kristal is a praise team member and I run the sound) or on the road headed somewhere. We try not and sit still to long.

Well i guess that does it for this edition of "That's My Life". Please check back soon for more episodes. I'll try to keep them coming.
